What are the basic requirements to open a GoTyme Bank account?

Opening a GoTyme Bank account is simple and convenient, but certain requirements must be met to comply with banking regulations and to protect your account. These requirements ensure that all users are properly verified according to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) rules and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) standards.

For Filipino Citizens:

You are eligible to open a GoTyme Bank account if you meet the following:

  • You are at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
  • You are a Philippine citizen.
  • You have one (1) valid government-issued ID from the list below:
  • Passport
  • UMID (Unified Multi-Purpose ID)
  • SSS ID
  • Postal ID
  • PRC ID
  • Driver’s License
  • Voter’s ID
  • PhilSys ID (Philippine Identification System ID)
  • You have a Philippine or international mobile number that is active and not already registered to another GoTyme Bank account.

These IDs allow GoTyme Bank to verify your identity securely and confirm that the information you provide matches official government records. Make sure your ID is valid, unexpired, and clearly readable before uploading it in the app.

For Foreign Nationals:

If you are a non-Filipino resident living in the Philippines, you can open a GoTyme Bank account using the following documents:

  • A valid Passport, and
  • A valid ACR-I Card (Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card) issued by the Bureau of Immigration.

Your ACR-I Card serves as proof of your legal stay in the Philippines and must be uploaded along with your Passport during the onboarding process.

Tip: Keep your ID handy and ensure that the photo and text are clearly visible when you take a picture. Blurred or incomplete images may cause verification delays.
