I am a foreigner / with foreign citizenship but have a PH-issued license. Can I use that instead?

No. Foreign nationals must submit a valid Passport and a valid ACR-I Card to open a GoTyme Bank account. Philippine-issued IDs such as a Driver’s License, UMID, Postal ID, or SSS ID cannot be accepted for foreign applicants.

These local IDs are issued for specific domestic purposes and do not independently verify a foreign national’s legal immigration or residency status in the Philippines. For compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements, GoTyme Bank must confirm both your identity and your lawful stay — which are validated only through your Passport and ACR-I Card.

If you are a foreign resident who has acquired Philippine citizenship or dual citizenship, you may instead apply as a Filipino citizen using your Philippine-issued government ID. However, your citizenship declaration must match the ID you submit during onboarding.

Tip: Before applying, check that your ACR-I Card’s type and color are among those currently accepted by GoTyme Bank (see list under “Accepted ACR-I Types”).
