How Do I Send Money Abroad?

1. How do I use this Send Money Abroad feature?

Here's how you can send money overseas from the GoTyme Bank App:

  1. From the Home screen, tap "Send & Transfer."
  2. Choose "Send money abroad" as the remittance method.
  3. Select your destination currency and review the estimated arrival.
  4. Enter your desired amount and tap "Next".
  5. Review the transfer breakdown and tap "Next".
  6. Select the recipient, whether it is a "Person" or "Business/Organization".
  7. Input the required transfer information (Full name, account number, routing number, SWIFT code, bank name, etc.)
  8. Input the required recipient address (country, city/town, state*, address, zip/postal code).
  9. Input the purpose of the transfer and review the transfer summary, then tap "Transfer now."
  10. Confirm using your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID.
  11. You'll see a "Transfer Successful" message. From here, you can:
    1. "Share" to send a copy of the GoTyme Bank transfers confirmation.
    2. "Add to Favorites" to save the recipient for future transfers.
    3. "Repeat" the transfer if you want to send again.

2. What details do I need to send money to someone overseas?

Due to international regulations, the required recipient information depends per selected currency or destination country. Please see the table below for the full list:

*Note that account details for JPY transfers must match 100% exactly with the recipient's bank records or else the transfer will fail. Please ensure all characters are written exactly, even those in Katakana or Kanji.

1. Recipient's full name (in Pinyin)
2. Recipient's Alipay ID (email or phone number)

2. Recipient's International Bank Account Number (IBAN)

If via SWIFT,

3. Recipient's SWIFT Code

GBP

1. Recipient's full name or business name
2. Recipient's sort code, account number, or IBAN

If via SWIFT,

3. Recipient's SWIFT Code

JPY*

1. Recipient's full name or business name
2. Recipient's account number
3. Recipient's account type (Can either be Futsuu (普通) - Savings/General, Chochiku (貯蓄) - Savings Deposit, Touza (当座) - Checking/Current)
4. Recipient's bank name or branch code

KRW

1. Recipient's full name or business name
2. Recipient's account number
3. Recipient's bank name

If to an individual,

4. Recipient's date of birth
5. Recipient's email address
6. Recipient's mobile number

SGD

1. Recipient's full name or business name
2. Recipient's account number
3. Recipient's bank name

If via PayNow,

4. Recipient's mobile number

USD

1. Recipient's full name or business name
2. Recipient's account number or IBAN
3. Recipient's full address

If via ACH,

4. Recipient's ACH routing number

If via SWIFT,

3. Will I see the fees, exchange rate, and details before confirming?

Yes, you'll see the full breakdown of all the details before confirming your transfer.

You'll be able to review:

  1. The transfer's estimated arrival time.
  2. Your recipient's details.
  3. The fees and exchange rates of your transfer.

4. What happens after I confirm my transfer?

Once you confirm the transfer, the amount will be deducted from your Everyday Account (EDA) and the transfer is submitted for processing and is routed to your recipient.

Please note that once a transfer is confirmed, you will no longer be able to cancel the transfer or edit any recipient information. Make sure to double check that all information is inputted correctly before confirming.

5. Will I receive a confirmation or receipt?

Yes, you'll receive a confirmation of your transfer with the following key information:

  • Current status of your transfer
  • Estimated arrival time of your transfer
  • A full breakdown of the transfer fees
  • Expected amount your recipient will receive
  • Transfer reference number

You will be able to access your transaction receipt in your transaction history at any time.
