Why is there a delay in my transfer?

When you make a bank transfer online, it may sometimes take longer than expected because of:

1. Bank maintenance or downtime
The sending or receiving bank (or e-wallet) may be undergoing system upgrades or technical issues. During this time, transfers may get stuck as “In-Progress” and will only post once the bank is back online.

2. Network issues (InstaPay or PESONet)
InstaPay and PESONet rely on interbank networks. If these networks experience delays or temporary outages, your electronic fund transfer may not go through immediately. They usually post once the network is restored.

3. High transaction volume or holidays
During peak periods (like paydays, holidays, or weekends), there can be a backlog of transactions across the banking network. This may cause delays in processing, especially for PESONet, which only posts on banking days and follows cut-off times.
